Plant & Vehicle Fitter – Stafford, ST19 5DJ 24-7 Recruitment are looking for an experienced and motivated Plant & Vehicle Fitter in Stafford (ST19 5DJ). This role you will be providing a repair and maintenance service for all company owned plant, vehicles, and machinery. Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for machinery and vehicles? What you’ll be doing as a Plant & Vehicle Fitter in Stafford, you will be responsible for performing an array of duties, not limited too: Adhere to the Health & Safety Policies and Procedures Deliver onsite breakdown assistance to the operations team. Ensure completion and timely uploading of the necessary admin records for all performed repairs, servicing, and inspections. Collaborate with our Plant & Transport team to discuss service schedules, purchase order details and stock level updates. Carry out repairs on plant and vehicles to ensure they are in safe and efficient working order. Undertake routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter changes, and brake checks. Conduct inspections of plant and vehicles to identify faults, defects, and wear and tear. Overhaul or replace worn or damaged parts as needed. Perform electronic diagnostics using specialized equipment to identify and isolate faults in plant and vehicle systems. Support the preventative maintenance program by ensuring plant and vehicles are serviced in accordance with schedules. Assist in maintaining accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections. Ensure that work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and adhere to company safety policies and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized workshop, with tools and equipment stored correctly. Other duties as assigned by the Workshop Supervisor or senior management. Shift and pay information for Plant & Vehicle Fitter: £137 – £157 per shift – uplift for nights and unsociable hours Monday – Friday 50% working away time About you: Experience and Qualifications Location – Stafford area would be ideal as this is where the depot is however site visits would be required. Regular night work. Experience: Proven experience in both plant and vehicle repair and maintenance Qualifications: NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant or Vehicle Maintenance Knowledge: Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines and fabrication processes. Safety Conscious: Good understanding of health and safety legislation and Road Traffic Regulations. Adaptable: Night work and working away from home will be required. IT Skills: Basic Knowledge of IT systems i.e. Microsoft Outlook Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members Driving License: Full Clean UK Driving License Benefits of working as a Plant & Vehicle Fitter Van provided.
