Main purpose of the Assembly Manager:
To manage all aspects of the Assembly area, teams and processes across all shifts within your department.
As an Assembly Manager, you will work:
Permanent Position
37.5 Hours Per Week
Monday - Thurs 08.00-4.30 or 08.30-5.00 and Fridays 08.00 - 13.30 or 08.30-14.00
Key Responsibilities for an Assembly Manager:
- Ensure internal and external quality focus within area of responsibility.
- Lead and participate in 8D's, problem solving and risk management.
- Manage quality improvements through KPI's.
- Ensure standardised working procedures are in place for all key tasks.
- Ensure adequate process audits are in place.
- Operate within budget for area of responsibility.
- Manage headcount and overtime within budget for your team.
- Lead and champion continuous improvement projects to improve departmental performance on safety, uptime, quality, processes and cost down opportunities.
- Participate and champion projects within the companies CIP scheme.
- Reduce energy consumptions through initiatives and controls (ensuring weekend hours are minimised for energy consumption).
- Reduce waste within the production areas.
- Manage health and safety aspects for Assembly area and team.
- Comply with Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental & Health & Safety standards in line with current certification.
- Manage and maintain Risk Assessments within area of responsibility.
- Carry out accident investigation activities, ensure near miss reporting.
- Ensure team comply with the Lock out Tag out Procedure (where applicable).
- Ensure team comply with the Safe System of Work documents.
- To ensure all contractors are signed in with the correct work permits.
- Lead 5S processes and procedures with your area of responsibility.
- To ensure all team members wear appropriate PPE.
- Manage health and safety actions links tasks for your department.
- Take appropriate actions in emergency situations.

- Candidates must be able to work using their own initiative, and be able to liaise with other functions and departments at all levels within the company. Managing People and processes and budgets within area of responsibility.
- Previous production management experience
- Charter training (internal training)
