Job Description
24-7 Recruitment is recruiting a Transport Administrator.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, have good time keeping and prioritisation skills. We are more interested in ability and experience rather than qualifications. Experience in the transport industry is preferable.
The ideal candidate will have:

- Work well under pressure, to tight and often conflicting time frames
- Good eye for detail
- Good computer and I.T. skills
The Job will involve:
- Booking in jobs and answering enquires from customers, general traffic office administration.
- Assist in offering an advanced level of customer services
- Dealing with customers, delivery/collection points advising them of deliveries/collects bookings, ETA's, delays and any other relevant issues
- Driver Liaison - proactive and positive communication with drivers
- Knowledge of HGV compliance and Working Time Directive
- Book incoming jobs on to traffic management system, received in various formats, email, fax, phone
- Ensuring investigations are carried out and the necessary action is taken
- Have a general understanding of Planning Collections and Deliveries
- Answer and deal with complaints and queries in an efficient and polite manner
- Wages admin PODs
- Knowledge of Mandata or similar Traffic Management Systems useful
- Background in haulage not essential but preferable
- Downloading vehicle and driver tacho data
- Keep track of transportation costs and schedules
- Arrange inspections, servicing and maintenance of the fleet
- Liaise closely with the Garage Manager
- Operate within Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA's)
- Work harmoniously with all other departments
- Any other duties to fulfil the business needs

PAYE pay rate
Monday to Friday £10.82
Weekend £125 per day.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm
- Weekends (Weekend cover as required, paid at overtime rate - usually every 3rd weekend on call/on duty).
- Office based and remote working
